Punjab removes DPO Nankana after inquiry into mob lynching

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi immediately removed DPO Nankana from his position after an inquiry report into mob lynching incident in Nankana Sahib.
Three-member inquiry committee headed by Additional IG Zulfiqar Hameed conducted hearing of incident and submitted its report to CM. Two DIGs were also part of committee.
CM directed action against other accused responsible for incident. He said all resources will be used to bring culprits to book. Meanwhile, Punjab CM stopped recruitment and posting of more than 500 officials and officers in newly-created districts of province. Punjab CM also ordered to immediately make functional all model graveyards across province including Lahore. He chaired meeting to review affairs of Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority.
CM Mohsin Naqvi abolished charges of Rs 10,000 in model graveyards for poor. At model graveyards, Rs 10,000 were charged for digging grave, providing slabs and for other services.
