LAHORE: Punjab government challenged acquittal of PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid in Jinnah House attack case yesterday. Provincial government has filed petition in Lahore High Court against verdict of an anti-terrorism court. It argued that trial court discharged Yasmin Rashid in case in contradiction of facts, adding that PTI leader had led rally that had attacked Jinnah House. Government pleaded LHC to declare her acquittal in case null and void. Last week, ATC discharged PTI Central Punjab president in Lahore’s Jinnah House, also known as Corps Commander House attack case.
Court, in its detailed verdict rejected plea for Rashid’s physical remand in case lodged against her at Sarwar Road Police Station. Court had also ordered her release if she had not been booked in any other case. Verdict stated that no evidence was found against Yasmin Rashid.
