Punjab elections: Supreme Court’s 3-member bench to hear case today

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) announced that three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial would hear case regarding elections in Punjab. Case is scheduled for today at 11:30am.
New cause list was released by Registrar Supreme Court. Three-member bench comprises Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Ijazul Ahsan. However, it should be noted that Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial is reportedly unwell and will not hear any other case on Thursday. Sudden delisting of bench resulted in cancellation of all cases scheduled for hearing on Wednesday. Delisted bench was supposed to hear 12 important cases. After delisting of bench number one, list of cases of bench number two was also cancelled.
Cause list of bench comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Shahid Waheed was also cancelled. Hearing regarding elections in Punjab is expected to be significant one, with many eagerly awaiting outcome of case.
