ISLAMABAD: Economic managers of country here termed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) White Paper on state of economy as selective, misrepresented and devoid of economic context.

“PTI presentation [white paper] was selective, misrepresented and economic indicators were misleading,” said Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Ishaq Dar while addressing press conference along with Cabinet members.

Ministers for Planning, Development Ahsan Iqbal, Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan, Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Information and Broadcasting Marriyam Aurangzeb and State Minister for Finance and Revenue Ayesha Ghaus Pasha were present. Dar said comparison made in white paper were incorrect and devoid of economic context.

However, he said this context was not seen in PTI presentation while it had also ignored international economic situation, commodities super-cycle, Russia-Ukraine war impacts and catastrophic floods in country. He said that these realities should have been kept in mind for making fair analysis.

He said, International Monetary Fund predicted that one-third of globe would be in serious recessional problem in year 2023 and Pakistan was no exception. He said, fund had projected growth at 2.7 percent of GDP.
