Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar issued stern warning to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, cautioning party against potential political repercussions of its recent letter to International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In an exclusive interview on private TV channel terming PTI’s approach as “Highly irresponsible,” Kakar highlighted concerns over party’s decision to involve IMF in Pakistan’s internal political matters.
Kakar’s remarks come in wake of PTI’s move to urge IMF to consider Pakistan’s political stability in any further bailout talks, move that has sparked debate and raised concerns among political circles.
Interim premier minced no words in expressing his disapproval of PTI’s initiative to address IMF directly regarding Pakistan’s political stability. Stressing existence of established forums for addressing electoral grievances, Kakar criticised PTI’s move as ill-advised and potentially detrimental to country’s interests.
“This is very bad move,” Kakar emphasised during televised interview. “There are relevant forums for solving election problems. This letter will have no effect.”
Kakar went further to caution PTI of potential political price it may have to pay for its actions. He suggested that such move could alienate stakeholders and undermine PTI’s credibility, particularly at time when nation is navigating through critical transitional phase.
