Islamabad: PTI senior Vice President Fawad Chauhdry met US Ambassador Donald Blome at US Embassy here, sources told. Both sides discussed country’s prevailing political situation in detail in an hour-long meeting held between 3-4pm, sources said.

This was Fawad Chaudhry’s second meeting with US diplomat this month. After first meeting, PTI leader initially denied holding such meeting but later admitted to meeting Donald Blome.

Diplomatic sources shared that US envoy off and on meets with PDM and PTI leaders but details of such interactions are not released to media.

US Embassy sources refrained from commenting on meeting held today. While confirming development, Fawad Chauhdry told it was a routine meeting.

It is important to note that PTI, which accused US of interfering in Pakistani politics and hatching a conspiracy to topple government of former prime minister Imran Khan, has now backtracked from its stance and seeks fresh start with Washington.
