PTI rejects Senate Chairman’s proposal over dialogue on elections

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rejected proposal of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani suggesting formation of 10-member special parliamentary committee to hold dialogue on elections.
Talking to media persons outside Supreme Court, PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that party has rejected Chairman Senate’s committee as ‘this matter is not about Senate, rather it is about political consensus.
He said that PTI has already formed its three-member committee after consultations with party chief Imran Khan. He said that panel comprises Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and Barrister Ali Zafar.
Coalition government had proposed formation of 10-member parliamentary committee with equal representation from both sides for talks on holding elections across country on same date.
Chairman Senate asked to nominate members from both treasury and opposition benches to constitute Special Committee for holding political dialogue.
Chairman Senate asked both leader of House to provide names of four members for inclusion in Special Committee within two days.
