ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesperson Raoof Hasan has expressed hope that ongoing deadlock between PTI and Army will soon come to an end, stating that it is in best interest of state.

In an interview with Voice of America (VoA), Hasan expressed that deadlock between PTI and Army should not continue any longer, stressed importance of initiate talks between PTI and Army without further delay.

He highlighted that path to political stability in Pakistan lies in recognising PTI’s mandate, either through judicial means or fresh elections.

“PTI does not seek to involve Army in politics, engaging in dialogue with military is necessary, as they currently hold significant power in country,” Hassan added. PTI spokesperson also suggested that judicial commission should investigate events of May 9, and if evidence is found, party would issue an apology.

He acknowledged that some party leaders have personal contacts within Army, which could facilitate future negotiations. Hasan mentioned that PTI founder has been authorised Mahmood Achakzai to negotiate with political parties and if necessary, with Army.

He stated that current government has failed to exert influence over judiciary, stressing that government cannot function without judicial support. He noted growing independence movement within judiciary. Raoof Hassan dismissed claims of his contacts with anti-national elements, challenging Information Minister to provide evidence of such allegations.

He announced that PTI will launch nationwide movement starting September 8, with rallies planned in all major cities, regardless of whether permission is granted. He added that more political parties are joining their alliance, with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl agreeing to collaborate on common strategy. Recent meeting between PTI delegates and Maulana Fazlur Rehman was described as positive, with discussions set to continue at bilateral level.
