ISLAMABAD: PTI members of National Assembly (MNAs) reached National Assembly Speaker’s chamber for verification of resignations but they could not meet him as Speaker was not present in his chamber. PTI leader Asad Qaisar talking to media men said Speaker attitude is extremely deplorable. He said Speaker himself had said “You should come to Assembly. He asked us to come one by one and then resignations will be accepted.”

Then how he accepted 35 resignations, he questioned. We all MNAs have come here to tender resignation. We want our 125 resignations should be accepted en masse. We will not accept caretaker government. Fawad Chaudhry said we are standing before Parliament helplessly. I ask from Speaker where are our 18 MNAs who were in contact with you. Speaker has no status. He underlined Pakistan is heading towards default. Asad Umar said election is only solution to pull out country out of morass. We have come here to resign but all staff including Speaker is absent. Postponing general election further is not in interest of Pakistan at any cost. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Speaker has said he cannot accept resignation unless he becomes satisfied.

Speaker has escaped from his constitutional obligation, he added. Our parliamentary party meeting took place. Our meeting was still underway that Speaker NA accepted resignations of our 35 more MNAs, he underlined. We have brought remaining members that their resignations be accepted, he added. There is contradiction between what he used to say and what he is saying.
