Karachi: A local court in Karachi has granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in a fraud case, as reported on Friday. The case was filed against PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh and his three brothers based on a citizen's complaint at Memon Goth police station. The court has approved Haleem Adil's bail plea against surety bonds worth Rs100,000.
According to the FIR, Haleem's brother Aleem had promised to transfer ownership of a plot in a housing society after receiving Rs60 million on November 26, 2019. However, it was later discovered that the original documents of the land did not exist. The citizen claimed to have been threatened at gunpoint in a farmhouse after raising his voice about the financial fraud.
Previously, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi had placed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in police custody for three days. Haleem Adil was re-arrested outside the Karachi anti-terrorism court on August 31, shortly after an ATC had issued release orders.
