The district and sessions court in Islamabad have scheduled the indictment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the illegal Nikah case for January 10.

Civil Judge Qudratullah issued an order confirming this date, directing the jail superintendent to ensure proper arrangements for lawyers and media representatives.

The case was initiated by Khawar Maneka, Bushra Bibi’s former husband, who claims that the marriage is against Sharia laws and therefore illegal.

Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi in Lahore in February 2018, with a small gathering of close relatives and friends. Notably absent were the PTI founder’s sisters, while Mufti Saeed officiated the nikah ceremony, witnessed by former PTI leader Awn Chaudhary and former SAPM Zulfi Bukhari.
