KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawyers filed contempt court plea against police over detention of Barrister Hassan Niazi, nephew of Imran Khan, in case pertaining to inciting violence.

As per detail, plea filed in court stated that Hassan Niazi has been kept in custody at Jamshed Quarters Police Station illegally. Investigation has ensured to court that Niazi will be shifted to Lahore within 24 hours. Hereby, they urged court to proceed with contempt court action against SHO and Investigation officer. Earlier, local court in Balochistan granted bail to Imran Khan’s nephew Niazi in case pertaining to inciting violence. Quetta police registered case against Hassan Khan Niazi for inciting violence and interfering in government affairs.

Judicial magistrate approved Hassan Khan Niazi’s bail against surety bonds worth Rs 100,000 and rejected plea filed by police seeking five-day physical remand of PTI leader. Barrister Hassan was arrested by Islamabad police from outside Judicial Complex, despite securing bail.
