Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that his party did not vote on constitutional amendment. Speaking to media he said: “We have made considerations on draft proposed by government.

We understand matters pertaining to constitutional amendment with depth.” “Bringing amendment in Constitution is serious matter,” he added.

Acknowledging role of Rehman, he said. “We would like to express our gratitude to Fazlur Rehman on behalf of PTI.” “Maulana Fazlur Rehman has shown great tolerance,” he added.

Meanwhile, Fazlur Rehman said that coalition had effectively neutralised opposition to constitutional amendment. Speaking alongside Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan during media briefing, he remarked, “Overall, we have broken fangs of black snake concerning constitutional amendment.”

Rehman expressed his support for PTI’s decision to abstain from voting due to alleged mistreatment of its members, stating, “If PTI is not participating in vote because of violence against its members, I stand with them.” He extended his gratitude to PTI for their cooperation, adding, “We have worked together with great effort, but we cannot impose decisions on any party.”

Commenting further on the constitutional amendment, he emphasised that it should not be tied to specific judges or individuals, saying, “It’s not just about seniority; fitness also plays significant role.”
