PTI demands fresh polls, ECP must declare results null, void: Asad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Umar said that Election Commission of Pakistan remained failed in conducting transparent LG polls in Karachi and demanded to declare election null and void. Addressing presser underscoring maneuvering carried out during electoral process he said that rigging started same day in morning at polling stations and PTI notified nation. Asad Umar said that attempts were made to steal mandate in Karachi.

Explaining what happened at polling stations he said that those who were making videos of rigging were arrested and tortured by police. Asad Umar claimed that results were delayed for over 38 hours deliberately so to influence results. He maintained that mandate has been stolen and those protesting against it were arrested and FIRs were lodged against members of PTI. PTI leader underscored plight of Karachi saying that city is deprived of water and the most tax-paying city is getting nothing in return. “This has been done by proper planning and Karachi is deprived of its basic rights.” Slamming ECP and Sindh government he said that PTI rejects results and demanded that ECP officials should resign from posts, declare polls null and void and must go for new LG elections in Karachi.
