PTI core committee demands govt to dissolve assemblies

LAHORE: A meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) presided over by party Chairman Imran Khan demanded that assemblies should be dissolved for early elections to pave way for immediate elections in all four provinces. PTI senators, members of National Assembly, members of provincial assembly will go to Supreme Court to register FIR of attack in Wazirabad.
During meeting, matters pertaining to country’s overall political situation, next phase of Haqiqi Azadi March and other important issues came under discussion. Former federal ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Senator Azam Swati, Umar Ayub, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Ijaz Chaudhry, Shafqat Mehmood and other party leaders attended meeting.
During meeting, Punjab Home Advisor Umar Sarfraz Cheema presented preliminary forensic report regarding Wazirabad attack to party leadership. Speaking to media after meeting, Umer Sarfraz Cheema said that forensic report of incident revealed that there were more than one attacker, while an attempt to create religious narrative against former PM has completely failed.
PTI Secretary Information Farrukh Habib said that second phase of long march was discussed in more than two-hour meeting and termed attack on party chairman an attack on 220 million people. He said Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah should be ashamed of his statements, adding that if any officer tries to covertly pressurise investigation of this incident, will also be exposed, while time of governor rule in province is over, now only peoples’ will rule.
