SARGODHA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman dubbed long march as ‘jihad’ to get actual freedom, saying that he will announce long march within few days. Addressing an event at University of Sargodha, berating Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman said, “Who gave him permission to stop political leaders from addressing students. I ask Punjab Governor to not follow advice of rulers as students are future of country”.
At outset of his speech, he said, “On three occasions, I had an opportunity to address students of Oxford University. How could students become politically enlightened if leaders are not permitted to speak at university? This is place even for PDM Chief and JUI-F supremo, Maulana Fazl ur Rehman to come, but if Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make his way to university, then he will ask for money.”
Taking a dig at Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said that Bilawal gives contradictory statements. “Some of politicians come into power by first pretending that they think about masses and after that, they plunder nation’s wealth”, said PTI Chief. Recalling his take on society’s decline, PTI Chief said that when principles of honesty and truth are ignored, then this leads to collapse of society.
Giving example of Switzerland’s key to success, Imran said that secret behind success and progress in Switzerland is supremacy of law. Hitting out at PM Shehbaz, he said, “Whenever our prime minister asks for money from abroad, then entire country has to suffer in terms of respect. Before coming into power, our premier was about to be convicted in case of plundering Rs 16 billion.” Lambasting financal czar, Ishaq Dar, Imran said, “Dar in his statement back in 2000 admitted that he Dar used to do money laundering, but now he has been elected as finance minister again”.
