LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took a dig at establishment, claiming that “Neutrals” did not look neutral to him on issue of vote of confidence for Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. Talking to senior court reporters at his Zaman Park residence, Imran alleged that efforts were afoot to bring Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to power in Punjab.
However, he stressed that PTI was preparing itself for vote of confidence in Punjab Assembly “If court directs us” to do so. “Our members are being approached,” Imran said, adding that three of them had told him. He then questioned “Neutrality of neutrals”. He added that he was fully aware that “Establishment is doing political engineering and efforts are being made to bring PML-N to power in Punjab”. However, PTI Chairman parried direct question whether he had full confidence in Chief Minister Elahi and that he did not believe that Elahi was not playing double game. “No doubt PML-Quaid is PTI’s ally but Elahi has his own point of view about establishment.
Elahi cannot ask PTI to back-peddle on its stance.” Imran stressed that he did not want confrontation with establishment, stressing, “We are fighting for sake of justice”. He repeated his earlier statement that there was “Rule of jungle” in country. He emphasised that justice was need of poor masses and not of well-off families. Imran repeated allegation that agencies were involved in attack on him in Wazirabad on November 3. He pointed out that he was prime victim of attack but was unable to get first information report registered despite his party’s government in Punjab. “Neither police officials are cooperating nor is DPO concerned or country agency.” He alleged that Hussain Haqani, former Pakistani Ambassador to US was involved in regime change in Pakistan.
