RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced rally for freedom of judiciary and release of PTI founder. Following their 45-minute meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Latif Khosa informed group of reporters that rally would be held in Peshawar on Sunday, with sole purpose of advocating for freedom of judiciary and release of PTI founder.

Gohar Ali Khan stated, “We stand with judiciary. In Peshawar rally, MNAs and MPAs will also participate. We will soon send letter to Chief Justice on behalf of PTI founder.”

Gohar mentioned that detailed letters would be drafted to Chief Justice regarding PTI founder’s cases. “PTI has always respected judiciary. PTI stands with judiciary,” he added.

Latif Khosa emphasised that situation was not confined to six judges of Islamabad High Court alone, as all provinces were facing similar challenges.

He asserted that PTI demanded formation of high-powered judicial commission to investigate incidents of May 9. He added that events from November to February, including London plan, were part of larger scheme. Khosa underscored that if justice system were compromised, state would fail to function.

“I salute six judges for their courage. Judges are also looking out for nation’s interests. Lawyers will act as guardians of six judges and lawyer movement will commence soon. Correspondence of six judges has validated stance of PTI founder,” Khosa concluded.
