KARACHI: 25-member Cabinet of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Workmen’s Union-Qazi Shaukat panel took oath of office at ceremony held at PSO House.

Oath was administered by Election Commissioner Mehmood Ali to newly elected President Qazi Shaukat Hussain, General Secretary Irfan, senior Vice President Naseer Sultan, Finance Secretary Imran Taimoori and others.

Company Secretary Rashid Umar Siddiqui-chief guest at ceremony emphasised importance of harmony and coordination between management and union. He underscored need to address legitimate concerns of workers and ensure their rights are protected. PSO GM Legal Affairs and IR Syed Sajjad lauded fairness of union elections and expressed hope that re-elected Qazi Shaukat panel would continue to advance workers’ rights with even greater vigor. He reaffirmed management’s commitment to resolving workers’ issues, highlighting that employees are backbone of organisation. Qazi Shaukat pledged to safeguard workers’ rights and noted union’s historic achievements including significant agreements with management. He expressed gratitude to PSO Managing Director for unwavering support and highlighted panel’s overwhelming electoral victory, achieved with triple lead. Irfan reiterated union’s dedication to serving workers and committed to utilising all available resources for institution’s development. 

DCCO South Raja Imran and other speakers addressed attendees, which included union representatives and voters from across country.
