Provision of basic human rights must be ensured: ICOHR

Karachi: First meeting of Central Committee of International Commission on Human Rights resolved to equip young generation with practical awareness of human rights through education and training. Central Committee of ICOHR with Executive Operations Manager and Pakistan’s first Clinical Neurologist Samreen Riaz Ahmed in chair reviewed past and present performance of organisation and to formulate strategy for its bright future. Members Central Committee Qaisar Ahmed, Sohail Ahmad Siddiqui and Omar were present. Resolution was presented to organise programmes and to start separate projects for resolution of issues problems of working women and to spread awareness about provision of basic human rights in younger generations. Moreover, valuable and detailed discussion was held to decide strategies regarding improvement and development of organisation.
Meeting congratulated convener Samreen Riaz Ahmed on her selection to represent Pakistan as trained Global Peace Ambassador in 167 countries at International Institute for Economics and Peace and also as an invited International Diplomat at United Nations Conference in Turkiye next month.
Chairman ICOHR Muhammad Aslam Elahi’s endless services were appreciated. All members approved resolution that Aslam Ellahi should be awarded Presidential Honour in recognition of his fearless efforts to set high examples of humanitarianism particularly by helping helpless prisoners in prisons and for provision of human rights for more than two decades.
