Character building refers to taking part in activities that improve certain useful or good traits like endurance, self-reliance and courage. Irrespective of your experience or age, building character is important. It is a lifelong process that enriches experiences and leadership. Nothing is lost when wealth is lost, much is lost when one’s health is lost but if character is lost then everything is lost.

Character is magic ingredient that sets you apart from rest. Our character will determine our success and each of us has ability and potential to develop and strengthen our character. Character is a potpourri of many qualities like honesty, integrity, dependability, diligence, loyalty, compassion, sincerity, attentiveness, determination, confidence, etc. All these traits and many more sum up one’s character. If you want to succeed in life, you must develop and keep a spotless reputation.

An individual’s character is one of most important aspects of Islam. While acts of worship hold great significance, Islam is a way of life. Everything in a Muslim’s life, including manners and personality, should be in line with Islam. Thus, proper Islamic values and traits are extremely important, not to mention relevant, in daily lives of Muslims, even though they are unfortunately neglected at times. Character is tree and habits are seeds you sow to reap it. If you invest in good habits, you will have reaped character and if you invest in character you will reap destiny.

A good character helps you develop a winning personality. In other words, a good character is backbone of a magnetic personality which attracts other people. One needs to be honest at work. Building character benefits you in many ways. Besides helping you attain difficult personal goals good personal character makes you trustworthy and admirable. It also makes you follow all rules that exist thus keeping you from trouble. While it calls for a level of discipline and self-control resulting improved life and social acceptance are worth sacrifice.

Word character when used it is generally attributed to an individual only, but it is not so, as-word is equally applicable to a social group or a nation. A set of distinctive personal qualities found in an individual constitutes character of that particular person and something applies to a nation or social groups. A good character is much valuable than rubies, wealth, crowns or kingdoms and developing it is most honourable task on earth.

Character building should be done proactively through deliberate and planned activities within and outside your home and school. This way, you will instill true character at a deeper level that enables you to automatically display positive behaviours. Character building is a continuous process, so it is not possible to build character of a person in a single day. It should be built step by adding one virtue to another. Character-building should start from childhood, follies like stealing, lying and bullying should be checked and if necessary should be stopped by punishment, among children.

A man of character always finds a place importance in society. He is liked by all. A good character provides reputation and personal charisma. It is our character that defines who we are and what we will become. Some people have more fully developed, some qualities, which set them apart from rest. Although character might mean a lot of qualities, fact is that all qualities are kind of interrelated. If you are honest automatically you are more dependable, more responsible and more conscientious. When our overall character improves, it translates into success in all areas of our lives.

If students are said to be ‘Future of Nation’, then teachers are those who can be referred as ‘Future Builders of Nation’. They build future citizens of country. Youth are back bone to nation. They can change future of society with their wellbeing and courageous behaviour. Unfortunately youth of today live in troubled times. Stuff that is dished out in name of entertainment and news fills minds of young with all wrong things. These are tough times and children are often weak and give into peer pressure. Youth of today face grave problems such as substance abuse, gang activity, school dropouts, vandalism, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy and youth violence. These are all moral issues having much to do with our ethics. There are no easy solutions.

Besides, heath is wealth we need character which is most important thing to become successful in life. If you have no character you can never be happy and successful. If you are dishonest and nobody trusts you so what is use of your money or gold? Money comes and goes but your character stays with you forever no thief can walk away with your character.  A man of character endears everybody. As fragrance of a flower envelops whole garden in which it is bloomed. So also greatness and frame of a person with character spread, far and wide. Socrates was an ugly person but of sterling character. He was liked by all none were repelled by his ugliness but all were attracted by his good character.
