Prime Minister to inaugurate Int’l Housing Expo next month

ISLAMABAD: First International Housing Expo to be jointly organised by Ministry of Housing and Works and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry from December 8 to 12 this year. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate event. A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari held meeting with Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, Secretary Ministry of Housing and Works here.

Two sides discussed and finalised arrangements for organising first International Housing Expo in Convention Centre, Islamabad. Iftikhar Ali Shallwani Secretary Ministry of Housing said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is keen to promote affordable housing in Pakistan and he will inaugurate Expo. He said that all major international and national developers, builders and real estate enterprises would be invited to display their projects in Expo.

He said that Expo will help in attracting local and foreign investment to Pakistan and revive economic activities in country. He hoped that collaboration between Ministry and ICCI for forthcoming IHE-2022 would be helpful in making Expo a landmark event. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari President Islamabad Chamber said that housing and construction sector stimulates business activities of over 50 allied industries and organising Housing Expo will boost business activities in all sectors.

Capital Development Authority has to amend its building bylaws to encourage vertical constructions, which would offer best solution to tackling affordable housing options in federal capital and across country, he added.
