President Zardari congratulates nation on Ramadhan

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said that holy month of Ramadhan conveys message of sympathy, affection, sacrifice, fraternity and collaboration with each other.

In statement on eve of start of Ramadhan 1445 Hijrah, President encouraged world community and Muslim ummah to assist oppressed Palestinians by ensuring quick ceasefire and stop to their genocide. President Zardari also congratulated Pakistan and Muslims throughout world on advent of holy and auspicious month.

President Zardari has emphasised need of recognising situation of poor, orphaned, homeless and vulnerable elements of society during holy month of Ramadhan and offering all possible assistance to them.

He urged well-to-do and successful to contribute to this noble cause by distributing Zakat as well as providing financial assistance to various segments of society throughout year. President observed that holy month of Ramadhan provided them opportunities to realise real spirit of holy month.

Muslims follow commands of Allah Almighty by maintaining piety with regular praying and obeying which helped them to earn blessings and absolve them of their sins. President prayed for progress and prosperity of country.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari was presented with guard of honour by smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Armed Forces at President’s House.

During ceremony, national anthem was played. President arrived in traditional presidential carriage. President’s family, including Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari were present.
