President stresses for job placement of PWDs in public, private sectors

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed for job placement of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in public and private sectors to empower them financially. Chairing meeting regarding framework for classification and severity of disability here, he said that suitability of PWDs for different jobs in market should be determined as per international standards.
President said PWDs should be facilitated in finding jobs for their financial empowerment. He said prospective employers for job placement of skilled Differently-Abled People (DAPs) should be identified and in first phase, big employers in private sector should be approached to accommodate DAPs as per their skill set. Dr Arif Alvi said representation of PWDs in business and industrial sectors should be increased to make them productive citizens of country. He emphasised need for adopting framework for classification of disabilities, developed in line with international standards and best practices, at national and provincial levels. He said framework would help determine severity of disability as well as the suitability of PWDs for jobs in market.
