President Rotary Int'l lauds professional standard of SSU commandos

KARACHI: President Rotary International Gordon R. Mclnally along with his wife Heather Mclnally and a team visited Special Security Unit Headquarters. He lauded existing professional standard maintained in Special Security Unit and measures adopted to further enhance professional capabilities of SSU commandos.
Director Rotary International Muhammad Faiz Kidwai, Chairman Rotary Pakistan Media Iqbal Qureshi and Governor Rotary International for Sindh and Balochistan Tehzeeb Kazmi among team members.
Commandant SSU Irum Awan briefed delegation about function of various sections of SSU and informed about measures adopted to setup country's first Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team. She also briefed about advance professional training being provided to commandos and issuance of ISO certificate by United Kingdom Accreditation System (UKAS) Britain on maintaining international standard in the field of performing counter terrorism operations and provision of foolproof security services to vital installations, national and foreign dignitaries.
Commandant SSU briefed about flood relief activities conducted by Special Security Unit particularly establishment of medical camp in Dadu and distribution of ration and edible things in various areas of Sindh after devastated flood. Delegation witnessed mock exercise conducted by commandos of S.W.A.T team in case of any emergency situation. Later, Commandant SSU presented honorary shield to Gordon Mclnally.
