President, PM congratulate community in Pakistan, world on Christmas

Islamabad: Christian community of Pakistan is celebrated Christmas across country alongside other Christians elsewhere globe. Special services were held in churches and prayers were offered for peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in their separate messages congratulating Christian community assured them that government will continue to safeguard rights and privileges of all minorities living in country.
“Merry Christmas to Christian community around world and particularly our Pakistani Christian brothers and sisters. Jesus Christ s teachings of love, brotherhood and peace are beacon of light. On this day, let us all renew our pledge to work for peace and prosperity for all,” Prime Minister wrote in tweet.
In message, President Dr. Arif Alvi has reiterated state’s commitment to protect rights of minorities, which are guaranteed and protected in Constitution. He said Christmas gives message of universal love, brotherhood, tolerance, and sacrifices and these values play crucial role in putting society on path of development. He appreciated Christian community’s positive role and contribution in progress and development of country. In a message, former PM Imran Khan also congratulated Christian community and said that entire nation shared this happy occasion.
