President IOI Chris, Gov Tessori discuss role, delivery of justice, other issues of institution

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and President of International Ombudsman Institute Chris Field discussed importance, role, timely delivery of justice and other issues. Provincial Ombudsman Ijaz Ali Khan was also present. Governor welcoming Chris Field said that mutual consultation of ombudsmen from different countries is praiseworthy. Redressal is being ensured. In this regard, people’s confidence in organisation has increased by redressal of complaints related to government departments, while steps are being taken to expand its scope to district level. Crisfield said that he is happy to come to Karachi. He said that performance of Sindh provincial ombudsman is worthy of appreciation. He said that ombudsmen of 150 countries are included in international ombudsman organisation. Ijaz Ali Khan said that such visits will help improve efficiency of ombudsman’s office. He said that Crisfield has been elected for fourth time for next five years.

Meanwhile Governor said that Pakistani women are very talented, dream of national development is not possible without participation of women. Addressing conference organised on International Women’s Day Governor said that women are an important part of our society and highly educated women are valuable asset. Women are showing their potential in every field of life, especially women in key positions have ensured proud steps. He said that women played unique role in trade, political and social sectors. He said government will provide all possible facilities o them.

Consul General of United Arab Emirates Bakhit Atiq Al Rumithi, Honorary Consul General of various countries, President of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries Korangi Sahibzadi Mahin Khan and others were present.

Moreover, Kamran Tessori said in current age is information technology, youth should make it their priority to master IT. Addressing silver jubilee ceremony of Arena Multimedia Governor distributed awards to outstanding performers. Governor said that promotion of information technology will not only give development to IT in country, but youth will also get better employment.

In addition, joint delegation of Journalist Forum and City Thinkers Forum and Governor discussed development projects in city, federal cooperation in its infrastructure and other issues of mutual interest.

Senior Journalist Mukhtar Aqil and team members appreciated efforts of Governor to unite people. They said that good results are expected from consultation of Governor with all stakeholders. They invited Governor to participate in award ceremony of City Thinkers Forum. Sabir Ali, Javed Iqbal, Nadeem Sheikh Advocate, SM Nadeem Kazmi, Aleem Nawab, Nadeem Warsi, Sami Ahmed and Muhammad Qasim were present.
