President Arts Council Karachi inaugurates Chitra Pritam’s art exhibition

Karachi: President Arts Council Karachi Ahmed Shah inaugurated art exhibition ‘Magical Lines of Endless Mosaic’ by artist Chitra Pritam as chief guest. Former Minister of Health Saad Khalid Niaz was among personalities attended event.
Ahmed Shah said Chitra Pritam established his unique style. Chitra was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz twelve years ago. Earlier times, paintings used to sell for fifty or hundred rupees and some artists even gave away their masterpieces for free. He remarked on substantial progress art galleries have made in recent years, contributing to improved financial well-being of artists.
He said global investment trends in art, initially in Europe and America were primary investors followed by Japan, China and India. He pointed out that due to high prices of Indian paintings, average person could not afford them. With advent of digital mediums, Pakistani art has reached various countries, including USA, Dubai and Bangladesh, connecting Pakistan to global art scene. Chitra ensured his children received high-quality education, spending substantial amount of money. He earned this money through his painting career. Chitra has brought his learned skills to world, marking continuous journey of excellence. Dr. Saad Khalid expressed his admiration for colours in art. He praised Chitra Pritam’s paintings for their appeal and acknowledged his hard work to achieve his current status. Chitra Pritam thanked everyone for their support, expressing gratitude towards Ahmed Shah for his significant contributions to art and culture.
