KARACHI: “Computer system of President Dr. Arif Alvi is fallen defective since last more than five weeks but amazingly no repairs were done by concerned authorities.” Aneel Mumtaz, renowned expert on electric affairs in metropolitan talking to daily National Courier said.

He said that lawlessness prevailed by K-Electric Company Limited and its patrons like NEPRA and Federal Ombudsman compelled him to knock door of President of Pakistan for justice and reprimand deterioration of administrative values under his governmental structures. But most interesting fact he stated that according to Faisal, an official of Presidential Legal Department-3 computers were fallen defective since August 8 and despite his frequent inquiries on telephone till September 17, 2023, system was not restored, therefore they were unable to send official acknowledgment of my complaint against K-Electric Company which has illegally disconnected my residential electric connection and till today was not restored.

Federal Ombudsman officials although directed to NEPRA for resolution of complaint within 15 days and immediate restoration of said connection, but K-E authorities refused to obey his orders. Hence, both governmental organisations’ orders proved mere lip service and issues were not resolved by pharaohs of 21st century. Now where people should go for compensation against corruption and high-handedness of these millions of rupees earning bureaucrats in salaries and uncontrolled perks from national kitty? Complainant asked in his SOS to President Arif Alvi.

K-E officials had disconnected Aneel Mumtaz’s home connection on May 14, 2023 (weekly holiday) arbitrarily with fake allegation of unpaid bills. complaint was brought to knowledge of NEPRA and Federal Ombudsman office. But his connection was not restored in summer scorching heat till today.

In his appeal to President Dr. Arif Alvi, Aneel Mumtaz disclosed that rampant corruption in K-Electric is being patronised not only by its regulator NEPRA but also by monitoring agency Federal Ombudsman’s office.

Fact was that utility had already over-charged him Rs 259,000, but neither NEPRA nor Federal Ombudsman provide justice against government entities and high handedness of K-E management or restore illegitimately disconnected connection of his house.
