ISLAMABAD: President has approved Bill related to suo motu notice powers of SC under Article 184/3. Larger bench than bench which has given original decision will be constituted to hear review petitions on orders issued and decisions made under Article 184-3.  A period of 60 days will be given to file review petition. This will be applicable to orders and decisions given prior to approval of this law.

President has signed Supreme Court Review and Judgment Bill-2023. Petitioner will be authorised to appoint counsel of his own choice in Supreme Court for review. Time frame of 60 days will be given to file review petition.

Meanwhile, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif  have felicitated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election to office of President of Turkiye. President, in tweet on Monday said his win is reflective of trust posed in him by people. President said Turkiye is close friend and country with which we have had brotherly relations for centuries.

 Dr Arif Alvi said Pakistan and Turkiye have always stood by each other, expressing confidence that relations between two countries would continue to prosper under dynamic leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. President said Pakistan looks forward to working with Turkish President to further expand bilateral cooperation with Turkiye in all areas of mutual interest.

 Prime Minister wrote on twitter, ˜Heartiest congratulations to my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his historic re-election as President, Republic of Turkiye.

 Prime Minister said Recep Tayyip Erdogan is one of few world leaders whose politics has been anchored in public service. He said Turkish President has been pillar of strength for oppressed Muslims and fervent voice for their inalienable rights. Shehbaz Sharif said Recep Tayyip Erdogan presidential victory and that of AKP in parliamentary elections is significant in so many ways, reflecting trust and confidence of Turkish people in his dynamic leadership.
