President Alvi recognises phenomenal services of civil society members, journalists

Karachi: In a ceremony organized by the Saylani Welfare International Trust and the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing, President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized the need for Pakistan to pay attention to the rapidly growing Information Technology (IT) industry.

He commended successful students of the Saylani Mass IT Training program and patrons who supported the SWIT. President Alvi also recognized the outstanding service of civil society members and journalists, including Faysal Aziz Khan who was awarded the PIAIC award. Khan stated, “Pakistan has demonstrated its technological reliance and capability as businesses, educators, and public sector entities turned to advanced technologies to stay connected. In the 4th industrial revolution, Pakistan stepped in very strongly through PIAIC. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work in President Dr Arif Alvi program PIAIC as a strategic advisor and we have provided technology education and training to thousands of youths across Pakistan.

President Alvi highlighted the potential of the IT industry to deliver quick and desired results, particularly in challenging situations. He praised the efforts of the head of SWIT, Maulana Bashir Farooqi, and COO of PIAIC, Zia Khan, in promoting IT in the country, and acknowledged their contribution towards positive change. The PIAIC, launched by President Alvi, aims to promote education, research, and business opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Cloud Native Computing. Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that people who have pain in heart for poor are proud in any society. Islam has taught service to humanity and its reward is also clear, but very few people would have this happiness. President Dr. Arif Alvi, high officials and number of philanthropists participated in reception.

One of most important aspects of humanity is empathy. Empathy includes ability to empathise with feelings and experiences of others and to show them kindness and understanding. He said that another important aspect of humanity is cooperation, humans are social creatures and cooperation is part of an active society. Key to building, cooperation requires empathy, trust and willingness to work together for common goals.
