ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has expressed his displeasure over callous and heartless act of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) to withhold issuance of transcript and degree to a BBA student due to procedural hiccups between FUUAST and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM).

While rejecting representation against decision of Wafaqi Mohtasib (WM), President directed PBM to redress grievances of aggrieved student and directed FUUAST to issue degree and transcript to student within 15 days.

President observed that University was well aware that student was pursuing his education on need-based scholarship under Ehsaas Scholarship Programme paid by PBM directly to University, but instead of resolving late fees payment issue with PBM, FUUAST unfairly and unjustly withheld issuance of degree and transcript to student who had no role in payment of fees.

President upheld Wafaqi Mohtasib order wherein WM had remitted impugned matter to Chairman of PBM for its resolution directly with FUUAST and notwithstanding its resolution, issue transcript and BBA degree to aggrieved student.

As per details, student Abad-ur-Rehman (complainant) preferred an appeal seeking interference of WM for issuance of BBA degree and transcript which was withheld by FUUAST due to non-payment of outstanding dues of Rs 122,500 which was payable by PBM directly to FUUAST without any involvement of student.
