President Alvi confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz on Malaysian Navy’s Chief

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Admiral Tan Sri Mohammadd Reza bin Mohammadd Sany, Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy in recognition of his illustrious services to promote bilateral relations between navies of Pakistan and Malaysia in a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr here.
Admiral Tan Sri who earned a master’s degree of science in Defence and strategic studies from National Defence University Islamabad was conferred award for his prominent role in promoting and strengthening defence relations between both brotherly countries, particularly in naval and maritime domain and for being a sincere and close friend of Pakistan.
Later, talking to Admiral Tan Sri who called on him after investiture ceremony, President said that Pakistan greatly valued its mutually rewarding brotherly bilateral relations with Malaysia in all sectors, including defence and urged to further deepen the existing cooperation in defence sector.
He emphasised need for further strengthening ties between navies of two countries to ensure safety and security of maritime trade and protect interests of two countries in their respective naval jurisdictions.
President appreciated participation of Malaysian Navy in Naval exercises organised by Pakistan and invited Malaysian maritime-related industry to participate in Pakistan Maritime Expo and Conference 2023 (PIMEC-23).
Meanwhile, Malaysian Naval Chief Admiral Tan Sri Mohammad Reza bin Mohammad Sany called on Naval Chief Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi here and discussed matters of mutual interest and cooperation in maritime sector. Malaysian Naval Chief was also briefed about Pakistan Navy’s responsibilities and capacity. Admiral Tan Sri admired efforts of Pak-Navy for maritime security in region.
