Presence of Omani CG at Karachi Games tournaments ‘honour’ for us: Dr Saifur Rehman

KARACHI: The Administrator Karachi Dr Saifur Rehman has said lauded the Consul General of Oman Engineer Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari for attending the various prize distribution ceremonies like that of Chess tournament, Girls Softball event and other disciplines which were part of Karachi Games and termed it is an honour for the organizers and the participants as it will encourage our players to enhance their sporting endeavors.

“Our youth are extremely talented. What they need is encouragement and opportunities to explore their talent and shine into world class players. That’s why the City Administration is keen on holding events like the Karachi Games in future as well so that we can provide ample opportunities and a sports platform to our youth, he observed.

Later, the Consul General of the Sultanate of Oman in Karachi, His Excellency Engineer Sami Abdullah Salim Al Khanjari, addressed the participants and lauded the City Administration for holding the Karachi Games, which he termed to be an excellent opportunities for   the new talent to come forward.  He said that he was impressed by the mettle shown by the participating teams players in various disciplines of the game, especially the softball event where girls marveled with their abilities.

A large number of sports personalities including the Secretary General of Softball Federation Pakistan Asif Azeem, Organizing Secretary of the event Saleem Tajik, President of Sindh Softball Association Waseem Hashmi, Secretary  Sindh Softball Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant, President Karachi Softball Muhammad Nasir attended the award ceremony held at Kashmir Sports Complex.
