Praises support during floods, terms ties remarkable

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asserted that Pakistan will always remember timely and valuable support of its “Brotherly Muslim countries during disastrous floods in country”. Addressing an iftar dinner hosted in honour of diplomatic corps of Muslim countries here PM said that Pakistan suffered unprecedented floods because of climate change while massive earthquake wreaked havocs in Turkiye and Syria.
He said world had witnessed rough period and one could see what happened in global markets. “Prices of oil and other items had gone beyond reach of developing countries including Pakistan”, he noted. He said Pakistani government was grateful to Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Malaysia for very valuable and timely assistance for flood affectees.
Every Muslim country came to help Pakistan at difficult period and “We will remember your support for all times to come”, he remarked. Referring to restorations of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, he termed it remarkable achievement and said positive development was seen by Pakistan with happiness and hope. “Because of blessings of Ramadhan, Saudi Arabia and Iran have bridged their differences and this is remarkable achievement,” he added. “We are all happy about this positive development and follow-up has been extremely speedy. It is great pleasure to witness meetings of foreign ministers and delegations visiting Riyadh and Tehran.” Talking about Palestine issue, he said hundreds of people were killed in Palestine in last many months in naked aggression.
Prime Minister of Palestine and some of his cabinet members had made statements saying violence against Palestinians was increasing, he continued. He said occupation forces in Palestine had shown disdain and crossed red lines without any qualm
