PPP's Qamar wins AJK LA-15 by-polls

BAGH: PPP's Sardar Ziaul Qamar won Azad Jammu and Kashmir's (AJK) LA-15 by-election unofficial result suggested. Zia got 25,755 votes leaving behind PML-N's Mushtaq Minhas who secured 20,485 votes. Voter turnout stood slightly over 50 percent.
Seat fell vacant after AJK High Court disqualified former AJK PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, who had won 2018's election with 20,010 votes.
Eighteen candidates are contesting election including PTI's Colonel (retd) Zamir and others. Number of registered voters is 101,145 with male voters standing at 53,107 and female voters at 48,038.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Qamar on his victory and hoped that Pakistan Peoples Party will come up with a major lead party in upcoming general elections.
