Karachi: Senior leader Pakistan Peoples’ Party Dr Asim Hussain assured retired employees of federal departments of disbursement of their pensions besides there would be no reduction in their pension funds except as prescribed and described in rules.

Employees dwelling in Federal Capital area-governmental-provided accommodations lamented that State Office was deducting funds in contrary to usual amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 to 15,000 from their pension funds.

The retired employees also stated that if such big amount is deducted inadequately then what would be left remaining in the pension, as now the pension is the only weapon of their survival.

This was disclosed during chat between Dr Asim Hussain and PPP candidates, who visited employees and became acquainted of deduction in employees’ pension funds. On this Dr Asim Hussain said that this would not be allowed at any cost. In another development, it was said that employees who retired in recent past were asked by State Office to vacate residential abode within week time, otherwise they would be deprived of No Objection Certificate provision. It is normal practice of government departments that employees are officially allowed to vacate government premises within six months to a year after their retirement. On this, Dr Asim Hussain said that employees’ ordeal would be resolved as PPP believes to facilitate everyone in their time of hardship. After coming in power, PPP local leadership would never leave people alone.

Dr Asim said that pension and NOC issue would be dedicatedly resolved by Party’s leadership and pragmatic approach would be taken to ensure release of their pension funds in time and according to government rules.
