Sukkur: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it is “Evident” that his party will form next government.
Speaking at Sukkur’s Jinnah Stadium, he said, “It’s writing on wall” that next government would be that of PPP. Expressing his views on issue of upcoming general elections and controversy surrounding it, he said: “General elections are inevitable.” “They [elections] will be held within 90 days, if not then 100 or even within 120 days at most.”
Refuting narrative that PPP doesn’t deliver, he accentuating Sindh government’s National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases said, “There’s not even single hospital even in Islamabad that is at par with NICVD.” “If someone can’t afford private hospitals, then they can visit Sindh government’s hospitals that provide free of charge care,” he said.
The PPP chairman lamented that another chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) was nearing the end of his tenure, yet their case (related to the judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto) remained pending. “The leader of the people, instead of delivering justice, was executed. Justice must be served," added Bilawal. The PPP chairman also came down hard on the PTI chief saying the people had rejected the cricketer, and his return won't be allowed.
Both Bilawal and Aseefa distributed land allotment orders to homeless individuals and those affected during an operation to clear encroachments along the riverbanks in Sukkur. Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Murad Ali Shah, former federal minister Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and others also addressed the gathering.
A day earlier, Bilawal while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a water filtration plant in Hyderabad, had said that his former political allies were running away from the elections. The PPP leader, without taking any names took a jibe against former ally Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) over their reluctance to support elections within the 90-day constitutional limit.
