PPP should accept JI mandate: Siraj

Karachi: In connection with Local Government elections, Jamaat-e-Islami emir Siraj ul Haq said former President Asif Ali Zardari should accept his party’s mandate. Haq made suggestion to Pakistan Peoples’ Party, stating that it should not be an impediment to Karachi’s development. Haq slammed Pakistan Democratic Movement government, saying, “PDM has given nation gift of inflation and corruption.”

He lamented rupee’s depreciation against dollar, saying “Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had promised to bring dollar below Rs 200.” Mr Haq also expressed his concern over National Accountability Bureau amendments. JI Ameer expressed these views while addressing thanksgiving convention of JI, Karachi held on New MA Jinnah Road.

Convention was held to mark historic comeback of party in political arena of Karachi as party surfaced as number one in Local Government elections with JI Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman poised to become city mayor. Large number of JI workers as well as successful candidates from across city reached convention venue in caravans. 

JI supreme leader Sirajul Haq, in his keynote address warned PPP government against igniting sentiments of Karachiites by usurping their mandate as It will result in agitation of an unprecedented level.

Talking about future course of action, he said that Engr Naeemur Rehman will carry forward legacy of Father of Karachi Abdul Sattar Afghani and Nematullah Khan.
