KARACHI: PPP Senator Sarmad Ali stated that 99 percent of fake news in Pakistan is presented as truth.
He remarked that no politician’s dignity is safe on social media and this culture is being adopted by political parties. As chief guest on final day of workshop organised by Women Media Centre, he said that Bhutto Sahib went to gallows but did not reveal nuclear secrets. He pointed out that no official from Imran Khan’s government attended Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s funeral, with only Murad Ali Shah being present. Speaking on artificial intelligence, he mentioned that AI has eliminated ability to think, as people have stopped reading books and started relying on Google instead. Women journalists and media students participated in ten-day workshop held in Karachi. At conclusion of programme, certificates were distributed among participants.
