ISLAMABAD: Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani refused to call meeting on second requisition of Peoples’ Party because Party did not succeed in completing required 25 members for meeting and members of other parties signed requisition has now taken it back.

PPP and Senate Secretariat have come face to face again on issue of convening Senate meeting on requisition of Peoples’ Party because requisition is not signed by required members.

For this reason, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani is also reluctant to call meeting. On other hand, position of Senate Secretariat is that members of other parties included in re-submitted requisition have withdrawn, including Sadia Abbasi, Abida Azim, Hidayatullah, Muhammad Qasim and Omar Farooq. He has withdrawn his name from requisition. 21-member PPP does not have required number to submit requisition alone.

In first requisition that was submitted, it was also revealed that signatures of some members were not certified in requisition of Senator Shahadat Awan.
