Karachi: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Central Information Secretary Shazia Marri said that her party was not strong-arming Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, which is in power in centre, over budget.
Party leaders had said that PML-N had taken solo flight in preparing budget, while another had claimed that PPP was not consulted at all on financial blueprint. During her conversation with private TV channel, Marri said that nothing substantial came out of talks between PPP chief and Prime Minister. “PPP believes in negotiations and we will hold meetings moving forward. We are not blackmailing anyone, we’re politely conveying our concerns,” member of National Assembly said, stressing that her party has concerns over budget. With differences out in public and days running out, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held meeting in Islamabad over budget. Sources told that PPP chairman raised concerns but assured PM of providing help to pass budget, while PM Shehbaz also said that he would address his ally’s reservations.
