PPP, PML-N to work as coalition partners for Karachi Mayor’s election

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sindh chapter agreed to work as coalition partners for election of Karachi Mayor. According to details, PML-N Sindh President Shah Muhammad Shah made announcement during press conference alongside Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani.
Taking to journalists, Shah assured that PML-N will fully support Pakistan Peoples’ Party in election of Karachi Mayor. He mentioned that both political parties had jointly contested latest Local Government elections in number of union committees in city as this alliance would continue in upcoming by-elections and general polls in province.
Saeed Ghani said it is right of every party to form coalition for election of mayor, however being single largest party, mayor should be from Pakistan peoples’ party.
He said PPP had desire to take along Jamaat-e-Islami as people of Karachi had also reposed confidence in JI. “We need to work together to serve residents of Karachi in best possible manner,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to PML-N for offering support to PPP for upcoming election for mayor. Ghani hoped that PPP would get support from other political parties as well for mayoral poll.
