ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Senator Taj Haidar revealed his party played vital role in Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader and member National Assembly (MNA) Ali Wazir’s release from Karachi’s Central jail.

MNA Ali Wazir, booked under various sedition cases, was jailed in Karachi’ Central Jail. He remained behind bars for more than two years. However, PTM lawmaker was released from Central Jail.

PPP Senator while reacting to Wazir’s release said his party played role in acquittal of South Waziristan MNA. “We played part in his release,” Senator Taj Haidar told.

Replying to question regarding Sindh government’s alleged involvement in registering cases against Wazir, PPP leader said his party had resisted Martial laws. “Martial laws were imposed in Sindh too and we resisted against them,” he said.

However, veteran politician said that he was unaware of fact that who was involved in capturing MNA Ali Wazir. “Ask those who registered cases against him,” he maintained.

Haidar arrived at Parliament House to attend Joint Sitting. A Joint Sitting of Parliament was held in which Finance (Supplementary) Bill 2023 was presented before House.
