PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto discusses political issues with party leaders

Karachi: Chairman Pakistan Peoples’ Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held meetings with party leaders and discussed country’s political situation as well as party’s organisational matters.  According to statement issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, former Minister Shazia Marri called on Party’s Chairman and apprised him about performance of her Ministry during last 16 months. She said that Benazir Kafalat Programme has increased stipend of sponsorship programme by 25 percent, while 1.4 million families have also been included in this programme.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP Central Information Secretary Shazia Mari discussed overall political situation of country. Senator Raza Rabbani discussed overall political situation of country.

Meanwhile, former Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani told in briefing that Sindh government issued Benazir Mazdoor Card, under which various grants are being given to workers including health and education, adding that for first time in history, agricultural labourers of Sindh were given right to form union.

Former Minister Manzoor Wassan gave briefing on his two-year performance and said that support price of wheat in Sindh was increased from Rs 1,800 to Rs 4,000 per 40 kg. Crop increased from 29 million tonnes to 39 million tonnes after increase in wheat support prices. Support price of sugarcane was Rs 202, which was increased to Rs 425 per maund. Owners of agricultural land up to 25 acres affected by floods were given Rs 5,000 per acre. Barrister Hallar Wassan, son of Manzoor Wasan was also present.

Former Minister Sindh Mukesh Kumar Chawla also called on Chairman PPP and apprised him about performance of his department. He said security featured number plates and smart motor vehicle registration cards were introduced for first time in Sindh.

LalBux Bhutto in-charge of PPP’s Research and Coordination Cell discussed upcoming elections and political situation of Sindh. Former Sindh Minister Nadeem Bhutto was also present. Former Minister Jam Khan Shoro also met Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and informed him about political situation in Hyderabad. He said that during floods in Sindh, all cracks at 4,500 places were filled, due to which flooded land was quickly prepared for cultivation of new crops. Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Shoro was also present.

Among those who called on Chairman PPP was Karachi’s Ibrahim Hydari Town Municipal Corporation Chairman, Nazir Ahmed Bhutto. During meeting, he briefed on public issues and measures to solve them.
