Politics on minorities’ sacred days against democratic norms: Maryam

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz said “Politics on sacred days of minorities is against democracy and disrespect to minorities”.
Presiding over meeting of PML-N Minorities Wing here, she said that) it was first fasting day of Christians and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was starting its Jail Bharo Tehreek on this day. She said that President Arif Alvi has given election date for April 9 when Christian community would be celebrating Easter.
She said that minorities should be respected as they were equal citizens of Pakistan. She expressed her best wishes for Christian community on first day of their fasting. She said that minorities fully participated in establishment, defense and building of country.
Appreciating struggle of minorities in fields of health, education and services, she said that PML-N always respected contribution of minorities for national cause.
Maryam Nawaz assured minorities that she would be present whenever and wherever they would invite her to join their festive days including Easter, Holi or any religious activities at Kartarpur Corridor. PML-N Minorities Wing office-bearers congratulated Maryam on becoming senior Vice President and Chief Organiser of party. They thanked her for providing an opportunity of expression to workers and patronising minorities.
