ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, emphasized the crucial role of political dialogue for the success of a parliamentary democracy.

He stressed that a functioning democratic system cannot move forward without open and constructive discussions between political parties. Speaking to the media following the first round of talks between the government and the opposition, Rana Sanaullah highlighted that both sides participated in the dialogue with an open mind and presented their viewpoints. He remarked, “Political dialogue is the only way to bridge differences and find common ground.”

The PML-N leader pointed out that while it is unrealistic to expect one side to fully agree with the other, mutual respect and understanding of each other’s positions are vital. He noted the tension between PTI and the ruling parties, referring to the strong criticisms exchanged, but emphasized that this does not hinder the need for dialogue. Rana Sanaullah reiterated his previous call for a “Charter of Economy” even during difficult times, underscoring that political dialogue remains the only path to resolving issues and ensuring progress. He expressed optimism that continued negotiations would lead to positive outcomes, benefiting the country’s democratic process.
