Political crisis: PPP convenes CEC meeting on Jan 5

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) convened meeting of Central Executive Committee (CEC) on January 5 to discuss country’s current political and economic crisis.
PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will preside over meeting at Bilawal House here. CEC will discuss overall political and economic situation of country, said sources. Meeting would be attended by senior leadership of PPP.
Meeting comes after reports of installing technocrat government to take ‘Tough’ decisions to save country’s economy emerged. ‘PPP to oppose technocrat set up’.
Earlier, Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Qadir Mandokhail claimed that PPP and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will not accept technocrat government. Qadir Mandokhail while talking to private TV channel said that there is no mention of technocrat setup in Constitution. “PTI will not accept technocrat government nor will it be accepted by PPP.”
PPP lawmaker said that not single political party would accept technocrat setup in country. He admitted that technocrats are working in different sectors and they used to influence decisions.
