KARACHI: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ahsan Iqbal said country could not afford any political adventure at present. Speaking to media here he said economy was facing severe crisis however there would be no default because decisions would be in country's interests, while adding incumbent government inherited vulnerable economy and Pakistan was compared to Sri Lanka but economy was handled well.
Highlighting result of local elections, PML-N's stalwart said people of Karachi had rejected divisive politics of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf because Imran Khan did not provide relief to Karachi during his tenure. He said all parties now needed to save state instead of their own politics and party that claimed of having 14 seats in Karachi was whitewashed in LB polls. He said Nawaz Sharif is their leader and now people understood conspiracy to oust his government in 2017 and that was an effort to downgrade Pakistan. "Nawaz Sharif was convicted in fabricated case and he would return to country to lead PML-N's campaign," Iqbal said.
