The PTI founder was arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with the GHQ attack case. An anti-terrorism court commenced hearings related to the May 9 incident, presided over by Judge Malik Ijaz Asif.
All 12 case-specific Station House Officers (SHOs) were present in the courtroom, presenting relevant records. The PTI founder participated in the hearing via video link from Adiala Jail. R.A Bazaar police informed the court about the founder's arrest in the case.
The R.A Bazaar police SHO requested the PTI founder's physical remand, prompting the court to direct the police to conduct the investigation within the jail premises.
Previously, a special court judge, Abual Hasnaat, had issued a release order for the PTI founder in the cipher case. The order stated that if the founder wasn't implicated in any other case, they should be released on bail approved by the Supreme Court. Currently, the former prime minister remains in judicial remand in Adiala Jail concerning the Toshakhana and 190 million pound cases.
Additionally, an anti-terrorism court extended interim bail for the PTI chief’s sisters in the Jinnah House attack case. ATC Judge Arshad Javed granted an extension until February 10 for Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s son, Zain Qureshi.
